I'm a PhD student at the University of Cyprus. I'm interested in the Middle to Late Medieval Period, and especially on the Latin occupation of greek areas - mainly the Venetian occupation of Crete (about 1210-1669). I'm also interested in the history of policing. Both these major interests culminated in me writing my Master's thesis about policing in Venetian Crete (with the title "Η αστυνόμευση στη βενετοκρατούμενη Κρήτη (13ος-17ος αι.)").

For my PhD thesis, I am going to study the possession, bearing and usage of arms in Venetian Crete, an interesting and intriguing subject that could also be considered aligned with current discussions on gun ownership and bearing.
